Just before shopping for the game, a read a couple of evaluations on the internet and most of them were pretty undesirable, but when I began to play it, I was truly shocked by how superior the game is. The graphics are remarkable, superior than any basketball game that I have ever played, and the arenas are all created perfectly. The commentary is fairly great, though dick vitale does get sort of annoying. The gameplay is very enjoyable. Unline nba 2k9 and college hoops 2k8, you will really make open shots. The player animations are good, it is not completely unrealistic. In terms of online play, the connection is amazing, and the game has by no means lagged for me. I havent even started the dynasty mode however, which looks to be fairly deep. Another nice function is that you can download player names on line. What prevented this from getting 5 stars was some quirky animations during the gameplay, but this is nevertheless a excellent sports game that is not close to as poor as the other critiques make it out to be.
Its a shame that this is the only college basketball game on the industry considering that this game is horrible! i briefly played the demo and i bought it simply because me and my close friends are significant college basketbal fans and enjoyed playing NCAA 2K8 last year. By acquiring this game I threw 60$ out the window! This game has hardly any unique functions not alot more than half of those 2K8 had.....You can not start out much more than 1 dynasty at once ( A function that me and my pals enjoyed the most), There are no fun functions like build a team or any other custimization at all...and the only custimization function that you will end up using is edit players because the player models are soooo far off they are practically unreparible all together...Lots of important players are entirely missing from the game...As for the gameplay don't even get me started the game play sucks! If there is a press it takes around 6 seconds to dribble past half court since when you are running with a point guard at complete speed (which isnt especially quickly at all) you come to a complete stop and seeminly go into panic mode and typically pass the ball away or drop it so that the D can choose it up....when you finally get the ball past halfcourt the complications continue no matter where you stand past halfcourt the defender doesnt stand extra than a foot away from you at all occasions which tends to make it nearly impossible to get an open shot off which would be nice at instances mainly because you normally finish a ten minute half with a score of about 15 - 20. other complications past halfcourt no offensive rebounding even with UCONNS + 7 foot center. hardly any scorign with a guard in the paint considering that guards cannot get past the defender infront of them considering that once again operating at full speed doesnt generate any momentum what so ever...NCAA did 1 issue suitable this season the courts appear a lot more realistic than prior to (too bad you won't delight in playing in them).....bring back 2K sports

At 61 pages, you might ask yourself: Is it worth my time? Can a serious book on sports really sell for just $9.95? Yes. The author is tightly focused on generating winning brackets in March Madness tournaments. His methods are original -- I have not seen his type of analysis on this topic published before. He has simplified a very complex sport such that anyone willing to spend an hour on their bracket will have a huge advantage over his competitors. The author's analysis and conclusions don't just read well, they make sense. The book's explanations require only an understanding of basic math and percentages that most fans of basketball can easily follow. The approaches offered addressing vulnerabilities of highly ranked teams are of interest not to just bracketologists, but to sports bettors as well. It is hard to criticize a well-written 61 page manuscript that is clear and innovative, when no other book on topic comes even close. Rather than criticize, I would offer a wish-list for his next publication: include a quantitative analysis of the conclusions! For example, the book suggests that scoring margin (average points scored minus points allowed per game) is the most important statistic. What is the success of this indicator by round? There are many other suggestions where more analysis would be helpful to a wider audience. The author offers ideas that seem to logically help handicapping inter-conference play. I would love to see more on this, especially with a focus on the first 2 months of college play in each season.
The books gets five stars in the spirit of "A for effort." The application of sabermetric principles to March Madness is fascinating. The book is not graph-intensive, which is a pro and a con. It speeds the reading experience along, but future editions could use a graph or two demonstrating the basis for key assertions. The author is young and it shows in his writing if not his analytical acumen. He should dump the "bloggy" tone and take his writing craft more seriously. There are a number of parenthetical remarks that are unnecessary and terribly distracting. Nevertheless, the overall reading experience is fun and intriguing. The principles are simple enough to absorb on first pass, and the stats he uses are readily available for free on a number of websites. The book is useful now and well worth the $10 investment. There is nothing like it in print. Future editions should be even better. This is a promising start.
What a unique and timely release in time for National bracket Day! It has articles on every ACC team going to the dance, plus extensive Duke coverage and tons of photos. There's a cool stats section too. This is great plane reading for March Madness.
I really enjoyed this read. Loved the pictures especially. Any ACC fan interested in the tourney should get this. You won't be disappointed. Grade A effort. Thanks guys.

I used to watch a ton of college basketball and felt like I knew enough about most of the teams in College basketball that I had a shot each year to be competitive when I was filling out my March Madness brackets. Well, as I got older, between work and family I stopped following college basketball that closely during the regular season and when it came time to fill out my March brackets with my buddies or at work, I was completely guessing with all of my picks and I lost a lot of the excitement for the games because after two rounds my brackets where usually in trouble. When I found this primer that not only told me about how the seedings performed historically, but gave me what I really wanted which was an overview of each team, how they played during the regular season, who their best players where, what style of play they have, etc., I was very excited. Now I can't wait to fill out my brackets tomorrow and when I do, I will be looking teams up with this guide. The only thing is that since the tournament teams haven't been selected yet, it looks like the author is using the teams that he thinks are likely to get into the tournament with their "projected" seedings. I hope once they announce the teams tonight that he provides an update to this guide with the actual seedings and teams in the tournament.
